you can't suddenly have special abilities, that won't make much sense, so if your character is a vampire or a metamorphmagus, post here within a week after you've been accepted into the site.

you only become a werewolf after getting bitten, and just so you know they're nothing like the wolf pack in twilight - you only turn into a werewolf at the full moon, and not when you're exceedingly angry. werewolves begin to feel weaker closer to the moon and it takes them two days to recover from their transformation. they usually transfer at sunset on full moon, and do not have conscious thoughts of their friends and family during that time - their acts and thoughts are animal. they can be killed by any silver object shot through the heart.

you can't sparkle in the sunlight. never, ever. in fact, you can't even stand sunlight if you're a vampire - sunlight turns you into crisp, in other words, you die and become toast. they're a tad bit colder than most humans, and tend to wear black - though that's not all the time. they need some sort of sleep, sometimes - that's what coffins are for, if you've got a super creepy vampire. vampires also need blood to survive, even though it doesn't necessarily have to be human blood. vampires are immortal, as they're the walking dead, and they can be killed by their body being drained completely of blood, or by getting their head chopped off - clear? clear. they also can't procreate.

animagi are witches and wizards with the ability to transform into an animal anytime they wish - once they've mastered how to, of course. this ability is very rare as it takes years to master, and many things could go wrong, so many witches and wizards would not bother with it. the animal reflects the persons physical state when in human form - for example, if the person had a broken leg when he transformed, so would the animal he turned into. animagi's can retain conscious human thought while in animal form, even though they can use their animal senses.

metamorphmagi can change their appearance at will, though it's an ability you're born with rather than learn. it is extremely rare, and it does not show up in every member of the lineage.

as with metamorphagus's, seers are born, not made. seers don't usually show their powers until they're about five, from where on they begin to have vague, confusing dreams. as their powers heighten, they can have visions, often while mediating, and sometimes, they go into a trance and don't remember what they'd predicted. seers can use tealeaves, and crystal balls, as a medium to look into the future. they also tend to be more intuitive than most.

veela's are beautiful - but you knew that. however, they only show their beauty when they're complacent, and this can entrance a viewer into doing their best to impress the veela. at their pure form, veela's aren't considered human, but as creatures. when angered, they take on the frighening form of a beaky bird with scaly wings. male veela's are quite rare, but females are pretty common. veela's can procreate with humans.

or, more graphically, mind-readers, can read the thoughts of those they wish while maintaining eye-contact. this is a very difficult task and requires a lot of practice, and often those who wish to learn legilimens must be of age for another legilimence to teach them.

occulumence is the art of blocking out legilimancy, by keeping the legilimence out of your mind. this is even harder than actually reading minds, and according to jkr, it is easier to master to those who keep their emotions below the surface, and whose emotions are not easily heightened. being a legilimence doesn't autmatically make you a legilimence
